Local listings need a place. The posting form asks you to select an address from suggestions for local work. Provider tools include a service area you can edit when that screen is on your provider pages. The public listing should match the area you can actually reach. Search distance filters use place data. They do not expand your area for you.
Where to go
Local posting asks you to pick a suggested place. Public discovery shows an approximate area. The provider service-area control is on the provider pages when that screen is shown to you.
What to do
- When you post local work, select the address the form suggests rather than typing a public street address into the description.
- Open the provider service-area control if it is on your provider pages and set the area you will travel.
- Pause the listing if you cannot serve that area for a while.
- Say in the description if you only work remotely.
What you should see
The posting button is Publish listing. After that, Pause listing is on the listing you own. A type includes Service, Product, Rental, and Free item, among the choices the form shows. Free item means a giveaway, not unpaid labor.
What this does not mean
- A wide radius on a request is the requester’s search, not your promise to travel.
- Do not publish a town you cannot reach.
- Map search uses an approximate area. It is not permission to collect a precise address in public text.
