Settings, Profile & preferences, holds About you, time zone, language, distance units, and availability. About you is shown on your public profile. Save with the button on that form. Who can see your profile is separate: search, a direct link, and search-engine indexing are different switches.
Where to go
Profile & preferences in Settings has About you, time zone, language, distance units, and availability. Who can see your profile separates search, a direct link, and indexing. Include me in Hire a Neighbor search can be off while a link still opens.
What to do
- Open Settings.
- Edit About you, Language, Time zone, and Distance units.
- Save the form.
- Set Include me in Hire a Neighbor search if you want to be in search. A public link can still work when search is off.
What you should see
Settings is titled Settings and described as your profile, security, and data. Sections include Profile & preferences, Verification, Where you’re signed in, Your data, and Close my account. Language in the header matches the account language control.
What this does not mean
- About you is public text. Do not put a precise address or a document number there.
- Language on the profile is the account preference. Help articles themselves stay in English.
- Changing your name does not move old deals to another person.
