When terms change, the offer has a new version and a round. Read the new version before you accept. The thread shows the version and the round. Withdraw offer if you need to take yours back. A counteroffer is another offer, not an edit of the other person’s old version in place.
Where to go
Counter offer is the other person’s control while the offer is Open or Countered. A new version replaces what they should accept. Withdraw offer takes yours back.
What to do
- Read the version number on the offer.
- Send a new offer if you want different scope or price.
- Do not accept an older version because it is still visible in the thread history.
- Use Withdraw offer on a version you no longer stand behind.
What you should see
The offer status reads Open, Proposed, Countered, Accepted, Declined, Expired, or Withdrawn. Under it, the line is Version, round, of the maximum. Open, Countered, and Accepted lose their actions after the deadline and show as Expired. The other person gets Accept offer, Counter offer, and Decline. You get Withdraw offer on an offer you sent. After acceptance, the buyer may see Confirm and continue to payment and the seller may see Confirm the deal. Deal confirmed and the line The agreement has been created mean the deal record exists. They do not pay a bank. Card payments are not open.
What this does not mean
- A chat edit does not bump the version.
- A new version does not charge anyone.
- Free help cannot be revised into a paid counteroffer. Start a paid request instead.
