A quote is an offer with a price and a scope the other person can read. On a request, Send an offer is the control. Sending an offer does not charge you. On a listing priced as a quote, you still need an offer both people can read before there is a deal.
Where to go
On a request, Send an offer is the control when submit proposal is available. The screen says sending an offer does not charge you. A listing priced as a quote still needs that offer before there is a deal.
What to do
- Describe the work in the request or in the thread.
- On the request, complete the offer the form asks for and choose Send an offer.
- Open Messages and read the offer version, the amount, and Cancellation.
- If the terms change, read the new version. The old one is not the one you are accepting.
What you should see
Search can be empty. That means nothing published matched. Post request is a different page and does not hire anyone. Budget on that form is optional and is not a free-help switch.
What this does not mean
- Asking is not accepting.
- A number typed only in chat is not the structured offer.
- No charge is taken because you asked. Card payments are not open in any case.
