Contact starts from the listing or the request, so the conversation stays tied to that record. Use Messages to continue. Say what you need, the timing, and the address detail only when the other person needs it for the job. The thread menu can mute notices, archive, block, or report.
Where to go
Start the thread from the listing or the request. The inbox title is Messages. On a thread the menu has Mute notices, Archive, Block, and I’ll handle this myself. Report is on a message.
What to do
- Open the listing or request.
- Start the conversation from that page rather than a public comment.
- Write the question in the thread. Keep card numbers and passwords out.
- Use Report on a message that is abusive, or Block on the thread menu if you do not want further contact.
What you should see
Search can be empty. That means nothing published matched. Post request is a different page and does not hire anyone. Budget on that form is optional and is not a free-help switch.
What this does not mean
- A sent message is not an accepted offer.
- I’ll handle this myself takes the thread out of Neighbor’s hands for that conversation. It does not create a deal.
- Block stops contact. It does not erase a deal you already accepted.
