Verification in Settings shows checks the account has, such as Email verified or Phone verified, and any other kind the list includes. Each badge is one check. Identity verification is held with payments, so you may not see an identity badge. A badge is not a promise of workmanship, insurance, or a license unless that specific check is what the screen names.
Where to go
Settings, Verification, lists the checks the account has. Verify your email and Verify your phone are the controls when those checks are missing. Phone verified means a code reached the number. The screen says that is not an identity check.
What to do
- Open Settings and read Verification.
- Use Verify your email or Verify your phone when those controls are shown.
- Read a badge on a profile as that one check, then still read the listing.
- Do not send identity documents in a public listing or a chat.
What you should see
Safety opens with the emergency notice. Meeting safely lists public places, keeping terms in the product, telling someone you trust, checking profiles, and leaving if something feels wrong. Trusted contacts and check-ins need you to be signed in.
What this does not mean
- Email verified means the address was confirmed. It is not a background check.
- Phone verified means the number could receive a code. The screen says it is not an identity check.
- No badge means that check is absent, not that the person is unsafe or safe.
